How often do iCals sync updated availability?
One of the limitations of iCals is sync frequency, which is why we do not recommend using instant book settings for any iCal connected channels. You can expect your iCals to sync every 6-12 hours, but if you need an update to occur sooner, just click "Sync Now" in your property's calendar settings to manually update availability.
Why is OneRooftop showing incorrect iCal availability?
If you just received a reservation from a third-party source, please allow 6-12 hours for this information to sync with OneRooftop. You can always use the "Sync Now" button on the calendar tab to manually sync availability. Otherwise, your calendar will sync automatically.
If you have tried the steps above and the booking is still not accounted for, make sure you have the correct iCal synced with the property.
Why can't I edit iCal availability in OneRooftop?
OneRooftop only displays the availability contained within the iCal file and all changes should be made directly from the source. Some channels like Airbnb will block dates on the iCal based on certain settings, such as same-day arrivals.
What is the difference between the links in the calendar export section?
- OneRooftop Calendar only: Contains only events made directly in OneRooftop (booking engine reservations, API channel reservations, and manual blocks).
- OneRooftop Calendar only (Google Calendar Compatible): Google calendar formatting is different than most other calendars. Use this link specifically within this calendar type.
- Combined OneRooftop & Synced: Contains events from the OneRooftop Calendar only link PLUS any other external icals that are synced in your property's calendar setting. Use with caution!! If any of the connected icals experience errors, the entire link could malfunction.
Which availability calendars are supported?
The majority of major listing websites support iCal. iCal is a standard computer file format which allows users to share files with an .ics extension. Once you add an iCal link from a 3rd-party source (such as VRBO) to your OneRooftop calendar, any booked dates from the source will also be blocked off on your OneRooftop Calendar.

What should I do if I try to add an iCal and it says it's incompatible?
First, make sure that you have copied the full and correct iCal URL. If it's still not working, email support@onerooftop.com so we can troubleshoot or try to make it compatible.
Why does my Airbnb iCal no longer shows reservation data?
Airbnb has announced that as of December 1, 2019, reservations from Airbnb will no longer contain any guest specific information, including your guest’s name. Per Airbnb, the iCal calendar sync description for reservations will display only the last 4 digits of the guest phone number, along with a link to the reservation details page. The guest name and contact information will be removed from the event titles, and the calendar sync will export listing calendar information for future dates only.
This will not impact the iCal’s syncing functionality, and the Airbnb calendar will continue to prevent multiple guests from booking the same dates.
I'm trying to confirm a reservation that starts the same day another one ends. Why won't the system allow me to add it?
Check your half days allowed setting. If it is set to "No" then the start and end dates of your reservations are blocking full days. You may need to edit the half/full day setting within existing reservations in order to add a new back-to-back reservation
