This help guide provides an overview of how to flag custom fields as containing personally identifiable information. If a guest requested for the data to be anonymized then custom fields on reservations flagged for containing PII will have their answers redacted. Please be sure you have Enabled Privacy Compliance Settings in your Account Settings page.
As you read in the help guide about Guest Data Anonymization, sometimes a custom reservation field contains information about a guest that could be used to personally identify him or her. This includes data like emails addresses of additional guests, license plate numbers, or emergency contact information.
If you have custom reservation fields that request the guest shares PII, you will need to go to each property and flag these reservation fields as containing PII.
To do so, go to Property > Edit property (green pencil icon) > Rates > Custom Reservation Field.

By default your Custom Reservation Fields will not contain Personally Identifiable Information (PII). You can click the edit button and toggle it to “Will Contain PII”.
Doing so will update reservations created in the past and flag these custom fields as containing PII. That way, if a guest requests their data to be anonymized the guest’s answer will be redacted from the database.
