OneRooftop provides you with a free "yourwebsite.onerooftop.com" domain address, but you can also use your own domain name like "www.yourwebsite.com."
Having your own domain name adds a level of professionalism and helps to promote your brand as users will remember it easier.
Step 1: Part of taking your website live with your own domain requires making changes to your domain’s DNS records.
Select your domain name provider below for setup instructions. Contact support@onerooftop.com if your domain name provider is not listed.
GoDaddy
- Log in to www.godaddy.com to configure DNS settings.
- Click on DOMAINS (the word, not manage).
- A menu will appear. Find the domain you wish to point to your website. Click Manage DNS.
- You will now edit your DNS settings.

- Edit the Type A Record by clicking the pencil icon.
- In the space where it says Points to, replace the IP address with following: 50.16.191.185
- Do not edit any further.
- Click save.
- Now edit the the Type CNAME with the name www by clicking the pencil icon.
- Replace the @ sign with the following: web.onerooftop.com
- Do not edit any further.
- Click save.
Websitespot.com
- Log in to https://www.websitespot.com/ and navigate to Domains > all domains

- Locate the domain you wish to edit (if there are multiple) and click on it to re-direct to the DNS settings.
- First, edit the CNAME by clicking the pencil icon to the right. If there are multiple CNAME entries, choose the one with www in the name column. Change the value to web.onerooftop.com.

- Next, edit the A Record. Change the value to 50.16.191.185
- There is no save button, so you can safely navigate away from this page after making changes.

Google
Set up DNS settings in Google Domain.
- Log in to your Google Domains account.
- Go to your selected domain and click the icon for DNS settings. If you hover over the icon it says "Configure DNS."
- Scroll down to custom resource records.
- Where it says IPv4 address, copy and paste the folowing: 50.16.191.185
- Click blue Add button.
- Next, where you see the @ sign, type www
- Again in the IPv3 space, copy and paste the following: 50.16.191.185
- Click blue Add button.
1and1.com
- Sign in to your account.
- Beneath the Domains heading, click "Manage Domains"
- Click the down arrow to the right of your domain name to open the drop down.
- Click Edit Domain Settings.

- Go to the heading that says A/AAA and CNAME Records
- For IP address (A Record), choose Other IP address
- for IPv4, type: 50.16.191.185
- Click Save
Network Solutions
- Go to www.networksolutions.com and click on the "Manage Account button" on the upper right-hand side.
- Enter your user name and password, and from the drop-down menu, choose "Manage My Domain Names."
- If prompted, set security questions and answers.
- Click on "Edit Advanced DNS Records."
- Click "Edit A Records."
- Put a check in the box next to the "www" field to erase that data.
- In the "@ (None)" field change the value to50.16.191.185.
- Click Continue.
- Confirm your changes.
- Wait a few minutes for the changes to take effect.
- Click on "Edit CNAMES."
- In the "Alias" field, type WWW.
- Put a check next to the other "Host" field.
- In the other host section, enter web.onerooftop.com.
- Click Continue.
- Confirm your changes.
Yahoo
- Log in to your Yahoo account.
- Click on "Domain Control Panel."
- Click on "Manage Advanced DNS Records."
- Change the A Name record to 50.16.191.185.
- Change the "CNAME" with a value of *.YOURDOMAIN.com to web.onerooftop.com.
Register.com
- Go to Register.com.
- Click on "Your Account."
- Enter your user name and password.
- Click on the domain you want to bring live.
- Under Advanced Technical Settings, click the Edit button in the "A Record" field.
- Change the *.YOURDOMAN.com and the blank.YOURDOMAIN.com value to 50.16.191.185.
- Click Continue until you are back at the main page.
- Under Advanced Technical Settings, click the Edit button in the "CNAME" field.
- Change the field with www.YOURDOMAIN.com value to web.onerooftop.com.
Squarespace
- Click on the domain you would like to edit.

- Click Advanced Settings.

- Delete website defaults.

- In the record drop-down menu select A
- In the space where it says Enter IP address type 50.16.191.185
- Click Add

- In the record drop-down menu select CNAME.
- In the host field type www
- In the space where it says Enter alias data type web.onerooftop.com
- Click Add, and then save at the top

Name.com
- Log in to your name.com account and click on the domain name you wish to edit.
- Click "Update DNS records."

Adding A Record
- Your A Records host will be: @
- (Typing this will auto-populate your domain name when you add the record)
- Your A Records Answer will be: 50.16.191.185
- Click Add Record
Adding CNAME Record
- Your CNAME host will be: www
- (Typing this will auto-populate your domain name when you add the record)
- Your CNAME Answer will be: web.onerooftop.com
- Click Add Record
Step 2: Add your domain name to “Add Domain” in your OneRooftop Admin.
- Return to your OneRooftop admin.
- Go to Website > Advanced.
- Type your domain name into the Add Domain field (Example: www.yourdomain.com). Click Add.
- Type your domain name again, this time without the www prefix (Example: yourdomain.com). Click Add.
Adding multiple domain names
You may only set one primary domain for your website, but if you own multiple domains, you can choose to redirect them to your primary domain. Simply follow steps 1 and 2 above for any additional domains.
